Message of gratitude from the President of FITS, Constantin Chiriac, at the end of the 32nd edition of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival

At the end of the 32nd edition of FITS, the Festival’s President, Constantin Chiriac, sends a message of gratitude to all those who contributed to this year’s great success:
“The 32nd edition of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival was living proof that when a community breathes through and for culture, miracles become possible. We managed to keep the announced number of events, to bring together more than 5,000 artists from 82 countries and to have, day by day, over 100,000 spectators — all in an international context filled with tensions and uncertainties.
None of this would have been possible without a heroic team, without our exceptional volunteers, without the artists who sometimes travelled with difficulty to be here and, above all, without our extraordinary audience. Once again, we felt what shared joy, friendship, dialogue, the need for peace and meaning truly represent.
We are deeply grateful to our partners — from cultural and educational institutions to administrative structures, churches, sponsors and the press, which generously reflected what happened here. Everyone who supported this dream was part of its success.
We were moved by the testimonies of those who came to Sibiu for the first time and left feeling that they had witnessed a miracle. It was an edition of brotherhood through culture, of unforgettable encounters, of smiles and tears of joy. A festival that united generations, nations and perspectives.
We bow in respect before all those who contributed — visibly or discreetly — to this impressive creation. FITS 2025 has come to an end, but what we experienced together will remain alive for a long time to come.
We look forward to welcoming you between 19–28 June 2026, for the 33rd edition.
